| Summary |
In September 2007, YEA began building its first middle school businesses with the Framingham Middle Schools. Eleven students at each school are opening and running a school store. These stores, Fuller Express and Walsh Replay, sell school supplies, small personal items and school pride wear. These middle schoolers are beginning the YEA experience more than 3 years earlier than YEA's high school population. Over the next five years, YEA will assess whether beginning business ownership in middle school makes a difference in the academic and social performance of teens, as well as their aspirations and ability to reach personal goals. |
