Digitize was launched in March 2004 as a graphic design business under the leadership of teacher-supervisor Deb Harper, herself an experienced designer. Later that year Digitize was hired by New Balance to create a New Year's holiday sale flyer for its outlet stores. The work was so impressive that the teens were hired again to do a spring sales flier, as well as the New Balance holiday card the following year. This success was followed by a significant holiday card contract with Middlesex Savings Bank in 2007. Over the past four years, Digitize services have grown to include graphic design, digital imaging, photography, and video. Digitize also offers a line of holiday and greeting cards. The teen owners have plans to launch an online division. The business involves 32 students and the program boasts a 100% graduation rate. |
